REVIEW OF THE MANAGEMENT OF COCKLE FISHERIES IN THE KENT AND ESSEX IFCA DISTRICT

Members of the IFCA have met and discussed the results of the Listening Phase consultation. Our next consultation will be going live on 24 March 2022, closing on 9 May 2022. This Consultation will ask for stakeholder opinion on the size and shape of any specific management areas, the type of fishing gear and whether access to an area would be limited and if so to what kind of number/ range of licences or permits would likely be issued.  Finally, whether the IFCA would use a Regulating Order or byelaw to manage the area.
