Site Overview

Swanscombe MCZ is a small site located within the Thames estuary which covers an area of approximately 3km. The site protects the rare tentacled lagoon worm, which is scarce throughout the UK, and its supporting muddy habitat. Swanscombe also provides important feeding grounds for wading and migratory birds. .
