FPV Tamesis which came into service in May 2011 and works out of Brightlingsea
She’s powered by twin 330 Ivecos. We generally cruise at ~18 knots but she’s quite comfortable at a sustained 23 knots (but a little thirstier)
The crew varies, she can work with 2 for observational duties, 3 for survey, and 4 for boarding
She carries a 4 metre rib launched from a stern mounted hydraulic gantry
She has a hydraulic hauler on the starboard bow for hauling and inspecting gear
She’s also well equipped with a state of the art electronic package and plenty of deck space including a wet lab area for survey work
As she draws a little over 4 feet she can easily work over the top of the many sandbanks in the Thames estuary
